VDub ist hauptsächlich zur Bearbeitung von AVI-Videos vorgesehen. Dabei kommt VDub mit AVI-Dateien in Größen über 4 GByte zurecht, kann den Ton synchronisieren und Video- und Audio-Daten getrennt verarbeiten und umwandeln. Es kann auch MPEG-1-Videos einlesen (aber nicht schreiben), und es kann Einzelbildsequenzen im BMP-, TGA-, PNG, und JPG-Format verarbeiten. Es gibt zahlreiche weitere Filter zur Bild- und Tonbearbeitung. VDub bietet darüberhinaus die Möglichkeit, AVI-Dateien direkt von einer geeigneten Video-Quelle (etwa von einer Kamera oder einer TV-Karte) aufzunehmen.

Anders als AviSynth (eine Scriptsprache für die Manipulation von Videodaten) besitzt VDub auch eine grafische Benutzeroberfläche. Die internen Bearbeitungsfunktionen lassen sich durch externe Videofilter von Dritten erweitern. Neben der interaktiven Bedienung sind auch Möglichkeiten zur Stapelverarbeitung von Einzelvideos mit Hilfe von Skriptdateien vorhanden. Ein weiterer möglicher Einsatzzweck ist die Verwendung als FrameServer.

VDub (de-)komprimiert Videos mittels der Video for Windows-Schnittstelle. Die verwendeten Codecs müssen daher VFW-kompatibel sein, reine DirectShow-Filter, die zum Abspielen (z. B. im Windows Media Player) ausreichen, funktionieren mit VDub nicht. Für die Audio-Kompression greift VDub auf den Audio Compression Manager zurück, so dass alle verfügbaren ACM-Codes eingesetzt werden können. Frühe Versionen von VDub bis einschließlich Version 1.3c unterstützten noch Microsofts ASF/WMV-Dateiformat. Dieses Feature musste aufgrund von Softwarepatenten aus der offiziellen Version entfernt werden. Auch MPEG-2-Dateien können mit der offiziellen Version nicht gelesen werden.

instaliras, sve one kockice maknes, da napravi ovo ono i da odmah nakon instalacije starta isto.

onda ides na patch kliknes duplo (valjda) i onda pise nesta zelenim slovima

stisnes ENTER i onda opet ENTER.

Onda ides tamo gdje je instaliran program

C:/programi/total VC i posaljes TVC na desktop i ne iskacu prozori

ja sam jos zadovoljan verzijom 3.10 (patch ili serijski) vidim ova je malo drugacija
